A 33-year-old Texas woman has been arrested after authorities say she secretly inserted razor blades into loaves of bread sold at two Walmart stores.
Camille Benson was taken into custody on Tuesday and charged with attempted mayhem. Her bond was set at **$100,000**.
According to the Biloxi Police Department, multiple customers discovered razor blades hidden inside bread and banana nut muffins purchased from two Walmart locations in **Biloxi, Mississippi**. The alleged incidents began on **December 5**, police said.
Lt. Candace Young explained that store employees initially believed the first report was an isolated case after inspecting their shelves and finding no other tampered items.
“Store associates combed through their merchandise and couldn’t find any other compromised items,” Young told Fox 10. “They thought it was just an isolated event.”
However, two days later, another customer at a different Walmart location found a razor blade inside a loaf of bread, prompting a renewed investigation.
Police say the blades were pushed through thin plastic packaging and hidden inside the products. During a second sweep, employees discovered multiple loaves of bread containing razor blades, as well as a muffin that had been pierced with a fishhook.
On **December 14**, another customer complaint led to yet another inspection, during which several more tampered loaves were found, authorities said.
In response, the Biloxi Police Department issued a public alert urging anyone who purchased bread from the affected Walmart stores to inspect the products carefully and report anything suspicious.
Walmart confirmed it removed and inspected all potentially affected items from the stores.
“The health and safety of our customers is always a top priority,” the company said in a statement. “We appreciate law enforcement for their swift action and will continue cooperating fully with the investigation.”
Walmart advised customers who believe they purchased a tampered product to discard it immediately and return to their local store for a full refund.
Police said they do not believe any other stores were targeted but urged customers in the area to inspect bread products carefully before consuming them.
